Fortune Teller Menat Revealed as Latest Character for Street Fighter V

Releasing in only a couple days.

After being teased in character Ed’s story-mode and referred to as the “Fortune Teller” a few months ago, Street Fighter V’s latest character has been reveled as orb-wielding Menat in a brand new trailer.

From the trailer it appears Menat’s battle technique relies heavily on manipulating her orbs, or perhaps crystal balls and hence the fortune teller reference, as she can use them to both mix-up the enemy player while dealing some massive damage. Menat is the fifth DLC character to come to Street Fighter V, with one more on the horizon said to be announced soon.

Menat is also referred to as the “eyes of the future”, and her design is centered around ancient Egyptian motifs. The name Menat itself could be in reference to the ancient Egyptian goddess Hathor, who was said to wear a menat necklace to protect aganist evil spirits and bring good luck to its wearer.

In the trailer we also get a look at both Menat’s story and battle costumes that can be seen below. Also shown are some new 30th anniversary costumes for characters that will release on the same day Menat is said to come to players.

Menat will be available in just a few days on Aug. 29 on PS4 and PC.
