The company shared the news via the PlayStation Blog, announcing that from today, players can sign up to be a beta tester. It’s worth noting, however, that not everyone who signs up will be given access to the beta as there are only a limited number of spaces available.

If you want to help test out the new features and improvements making their way to the PS4 in the next software update, you’ll want to sign up here for Europe, and over here for the US.

Sony hasn’t yet revealed exactly what new features fans should expect from the PS4’s next system update, but it did reveal that more details of exactly what to expect will be revealed just before the beta trial kicks off in August.

As always with PS4 software betas, you’ll need to have your system connected to the internet and be the master account owner. If you have any issues with the beta software, you can always rollback to previous software, too.
