More than last year’s event.
The week-long speedrunning marathon Summer Games Done Quick ended this weekend, and has raised over $1.7 million for the Doctor Without Borders charity.
According to the event’s stats page, SGDQ 2017 raised $1,778,400 from 30,072 donations with some still being counted after the event ended. The highest single donation made during the marathon was $20,300. The donation amount beats last year’s event, which raised almost $1.3 million, while this year’s Awesome Games Done Quick still holds the overall record at $2.2 million.
SGDQ 2017 held 139 speedruns with games such as Nier: Automata, Final Fantasy VII, Titanfall 2, and Super Mario 64. There were also races between multiple speedrunners for Tetris: The Grand Master, The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening DX, and more. One highlight towards the end of the marathon includes a Portal 2 two-player cooperative run by only one person.
