Splatoon 2 is bubbling to the surface on July 21, but before we can reel the game in, Nintendo is streaming another Nintendo Direct all about the upcoming Nintendo Switch game. The Direct is scheduled for this Thursday, July 6 at 10 AM ET, and it’ll feature several new features you can expect to see out of Splatoon 2.

This is hardly the first Nintendo Direct centered around the game, but it’s probable that since it’s releasing at the end of the month, this will be the last one. We’ll likely hear more about the horde-like Salmon Run multiplayer mode and possibly its single-player campaign, which will hopefully be a much more expansive affair than the first game’s, which felt more like an afterthought rather than a fleshed-out adventure for solo players.
Splatoon 2’s single-player content is actually called Hero Mode, featuring some decidedly diverse locations and additional faces in terms of who you’ll see while running around in each missions. There’s also the tale of the two Squid Sisters, Callie and Marie, who have experienced some drama brewing in their relationship. What happened to Inkopolis’ beloved Squid Sister duo? You’ll just have to wait and see.
Hopefully additional details come out surrounding what single-player enthusiasts can look forward to, but until then we’ll be looking to stay fresh with our Nintendo Switch units beside us.
