Still going strong.
Splatoon 2’s worldwide release last Friday wasn’t strong enough to dethrone Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy on PS4, according to the latest PAL Chart update.
Of course, given that Splatoon 2 only had three days to register its sales last week, Nintendo’s latest first party effort has still recorded notable figures. It actually only missed out by just 678 units.
However, considering that the N. Sane Trilogy has been out in the wild for nearly a month, its continued success is arguably even more impressive. The game has seen exceptionally strong sales in the UK, holding its top spot since the start of the month to become the biggest single format release of the year — even clocking in ahead of Horizon Zero Dawn.
The game’s commercial performance has been so strong that Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg suggested there might be future nostalgia-fuelled remasters in the same vein as a result.
