Switching Guns and Weapons in Splatoon 2

Recommended Videos

Splatoon 2 comes with a wide variety of weapon types, and you’ll probably need to spend a bit of time with each of them to find out which one truly suits your play style. Before you start switching up your gear loadouts, you’ll have to buy some weapons first. This can be done once you hit level 4 (which should be a pretty quick process if you play Turf Wars), and unlock weapons for sale in the shop.

To switch out your weapons, simply press the + button on your Switch to check out all of the gear you currently have equipped. The leftmost tab is reserved for your weapons, and you can press the A button to select whichever one you want to equip, and that’s it. You can switch your guns and loadouts whenever you want. However, you cannot do so once you’ve already joined an online match lobby, and you’re also not allowed to swap them out in the middle of the match. Choose your gear wisely.

More About Splatoon 2

Splatoon 2 is the follow-up to Splatoon, the inky shooter game released on the Wii U two years ago. Take control of a kid, splat your enemies with ink, and transform into a squid whenever you feel like it.
