Overwatch Hero Roadhog Might Be Getting a Survivability Buff Soon

Piggy power!

Overwatch hero Roadhog has hit a major roadblock in the meta after his recent nerf, and not to mention that the dive composition is becoming a popular composition in competitive play lately. The tank character can’t cone shot squishy heroes anymore as they can still survive even after he hooks them. Many fans weren’t too pleased about his changes and have been requesting Blizzard to do something about it.

Luckily, Overwatch principal designer Geoff Goodman has shed some light on what Blizzard is doing with the hero. Posting on the game’s official forums, he claimed that they are already performing some internal tests for Roadhog.

“We’re testing some stuff internally for Roadhog. The focus of changes we’re trying are around his defenses, rather than his offensive capabilities. Even though the hook combo is weaker now he can still dish out a lot of damage over all. If he had some more survivability he would be in a better place.”

With that being said, Blizzard might not have any current plans of bringing back his one shot glory days. However, it seems like they’re trying to experiment with his defenses so he can last longer on the battlefield and live up to his class as a tank. It’s worth pointing out that Roadhog is the only Overwatch tank that doesn’t have any initial shields or armor but compensates for it with his self-healing ability.

For now, fans will just have to wait for further news on what Blizzard plans to do with the hero. Those who want to play Overwatch can grab a copy for the PC, PS4, or Xbox One.
