Need for Speed Payback’s Latest Trailer Shows Off Extensive Customization

Go from trash to supercar.
Need For Speed Payback

Need for Speed Payback is shaping up to be one of the most exciting driving games of the year, and the latest trailer only shows us more to get hyped about. As the new trailer shows, the game will feature highly customizable cars, letting you soup up your metal-clad steed to your heart’s content.

As you can see, every individual car part can be changed from a ton of options in order to make the car truly your own. Completing events in the game will net you performance cards, allowing you to improve certain aspects of how your car drives, like the transmission or the engine. One of the coolest parts about this trailer is that it shows off the ability to explore the world, unearthing ‘forgotten legends’ – essentially ruined cars – and then proceed to restore them to their former glory; from scrap, to stock, to supercar.

Every single customisation option can be unlocked with time and skill, the trailer says, which leads us to assume that you might be able to purchase the parts instead of earning them – which works for players who don’t have the time to grind out parts. The trailer also highlighted at the end the pre-order bonus for Need for Speed Payback, the Platinum Car Pack. The pack gives you five cars straight away:

  • Nissan 350Z 2008
  • Chevrolet Camaro SS 1967
  • Dodge Charger R/T 1969
  • Ford F-150 Raptor 2016
  • Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport 2016

Need for Speed Payback will probably be the series’ most over-the-top title yet, and we couldn’t be more excited. The game is set to release on November 10 of this year for the Xbox One, PS4, and Origin. It’s also confirmed to be getting the 4K treatment on the Xbox One X.
