Assassin’s Creed Origins Will See Its Lore Expanded By Way of Comics, Novels and More

Assassin’s Creed Origins hasn’t even hit store shelves yet and Ubisoft is looking to bring fans more of the lore in a convenient package. Starting this fall, the game will see an extension of its story and supplemental content by way of a comic miniseries, novel, guide, and art book.

The novel, Assassin’s Creed Origins Desert Oath, is being written by Oliver Bowden and will be published by a joint venture between Penguin Books and Ubisoft. The game’s development team had a hand in helping it come to fruition.

The book “portrays a young Bayek following his father’s footsteps, leaving the peace of his hometown, Siwa, in search of answers,” as its promotional blurb says. “Follow Bayek through a journey that will take him along the Nile and across a country in turmoil as he faces the dangers and mysteries of the Medjay’s path.”

On the other hand, the comic series is being written by Anne Toole and published via Titan Comics, as will the art book. There isn’t much information about either at present, but the art book will “follow the world of Assassin’s Creed Origins” in some fashion.

Prima Games will handle the official guide in addition to this other media, which isn’t really surprising considering most games get strategy guides these days, after all.
