Though it’ll certainly be better in VR.

During Ubisoft’s E3 2017 conference, a short trailer was shown for a game called Transference that featured Elijah Wood acting a little bit creepy. While the trailer certainly portrayed this to be a VR title, it turns out that this actually isn’t the case.

While Transference is coming to all three of the major VR headsets, you’ll also be able to experience the unsettling puzzle/ exploration title through your TV or monitor. However, from our hands-on time with the title, we’d strongly suggest playing the game in virtual reality if you can. For those of you who aren’t familiar with exactly what Transference is about, we’ve included the game’s official description below.

Transference is a psychological thriller and the first game collaboration between SpectreVision and Ubisoft Montreal. Bridging the gap between movies and games, we invite you to lose yourself in the destructive tale of a man’s obsession as you explore his digitally recreated memories.

Escape the maze-like puzzle of an impossible home concealing a corrupted truth. Meet the troubled family members and get hands-on to solve their riddle through a multi-branching narrative. You directly influence their fate and decide their future.

Transference will release Spring 2018 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
