Tekken 7: How to Parry Attacks and Pull Off a Reversal

How to Parry Attacks in Tekken 7

Recommended Videos

Some opponents can be relentless during matches in Tekken 7. This is when it becomes time to block and, when possible, parry. Parrying isn’t exactly the easiest thing to do, but it is possible… sometimes. Here’s how you can parry attacks in Tekken 7.

First off, all characters have a universal low parry which allows them to reverse low attacks and put their opponent on the ground. To do so, you’ll need to press down and forward right when a low attack is about to connect. It takes some practice to get the timing down, making blocking a more surefire defense, but if you get the hang of it it’s quite useful. Practice makes perfect.

Other attacks cannot simply be parried by everyone. Some characters have attack reversals which are the only way to reverse (which many just call parry) a high/mid attack. When playing as them you can use one of two commands to reverse attacks:

  • Back + Left Punch + Left Kick
  • Back + Right Punch + Right Kick

Neither of these will hurt your opponent, but they will put you in an advantageous situation that can lead to you seriously punishing your opponent. Practice makes perfect, so get out there and see if you can get the hang of it.
