Battlefield 1 players will see an expansive new addition to the multiplayer game with the In the Name of the Tsar expansion.
Battlefield 1 was an important topic of discussion today during EA Play’s livestream, beginning with a flurry of streamers playing Battlefield 1 online and leading into the announcement that the second DLC expansion, In The Name of the Tsar, will be arriving for players this September.
The expansion will include six new maps, including Nivelle Nights and Prise de Tahure, both of which will be available for EA Play attendees to try out this week. Along with new maps, it will introduce the Russian army, new vehicles, the Women’s Battalion, and additional specializations.
This time around, the action will be shifted over to the Eastern front, with EA calling this round of content the “most extensive Battlefield expansion to date.” Night time battles and a brand new competitive experience will be part of the experience as well.
If you’re in attendance at the show, make sure you check out the two new maps ahead of their release when the In The Name of the Tsar expansion drops this September. If you’ve been waiting for the next big thing in terms of Battlefield 1, this could very well be it — assuming you’re not caught up in Star Wars Battlefront 2 by then.
