Some spit ‘n’ polish to last month’s platformer.

Today, Playtonic Games shared some news on what fans can expect from the upcoming update for Yooka-Laylee.

The news comes via a post over on the developer’s blog revealing what the team has been up to since Yooka-Laylee’s release early last month. Players will be pleased to know that the upcoming update will add “significant improvements and introduce some of the most requested features.”

Yes, that means that Playtonic Games has been listening to what fans had to say. The post goes on to detail that “stuff like the optional ability to skip dialogue faster, bypass cutscenes, or reduce those pesky gibberish voices” are some of the big fixes on the way.

Most notably, though, are the changes coming to “how the camera operates.” While this may not sound like anything groundbreaking, one of the things that many critics agreed on was that, in its current state, the camera is pretty bad. While Playtonic Games haven’t detailed exactly what these changes are in words, they have provided a pretty neat example of the new and upgraded camera in a GIF over in the post.

More details regarding Yooka-Laylee’s upcoming update are expected to drop in the coming weeks. Currently, it’s unknown when the update will go live, but we’ll be sure to keep you posted as and when we find out.
