The Wild Eight puts players in an unforgiving, procedurally generated world and tasks them with surviving for as long as they can. Imagine Don’t Starve but co-op. While it’s certainly possible to survive by going out on your own, you’ll have a far better chance if you group up with other players. As such, some may be wondering exactly how many players can play co-op in The Wild Eight.
Well, as its name suggests, the game supports up to eight players in co-op at any one time. It’s worth noting, however, that you don’t have to have eight players in your game. In fact, one of the game’s developers suggests that the game may actually be a more rewarding experience if played with fewer players. “I think, the loot is “ideal” for 2-3, but it depends on how much loot you want/ need,” developer ryozombaku said.
Of course, with more players working together, you’ll be able to explore, hunt, and craft more than a smaller party could. As such, the optimal number of players for co-op in The Wild Eight comes down to whether you’d prefer more loot for yourself, or to share out the work between more players.
