Shantae: Half-Genie Hero Will Be Making Its Way to the Switch This Summer

Perfect summer title.

The Nintendo Switch library will be one game bigger come this summer thanks to the team over at WayForward. The developers have announced that a port of Shantae: Half-Genie Hero will making its way to the Nintendo Switch sometime this summer. The fourth game in the Shantae series will contain over 150 custom-made HD Rumble events made just for the Switch.

The Shantae series follows a half-genie who uses her long and beautiful yet deadly hair to attack enemies with. The game is presented in high-definition but features 2D sprites on a 3D environments. The gameplay is reminiscent of past titles like Ducktales and/or Metroid.

WayForward will be publishing the digital version of the title while XSEED will be handling the retail version. More details will be coming shortly on pricing and release date.

Shantae: Half-Genie Hero is currently available for PS4, Xbox One, Wii U, PS Vita, and Microsoft Windows.
