Prey: What to Do With Junk Items

What to Do With Junk in Prey

Recommended Videos

While the Talos I space station definitely has a bunch of handy weapons and items for you to use on your adventure, there’s also a ton of junk you won’t have any real use for. Fortunately, this isn’t just in the game to clog up your inventory. It all has a use, you just need the right equipment.

You’ll want to seek out a Recycler to make use of your junk. Open your map and look for a recycling symbol (three arrows in a triangle). Make your way here and you should find a large machine in front of you.

Head to the left side of the Recycler and press Square/ X to interact with it. Now, if you hold down Square/ X again, Prey will automatically move all of your junk into the Recycler. Back out of this and press the confirm option on the machine’s screen. After a few moments, you’ll see a number of blocks fall out near the bottom of the Recycler. Your junk has now been broken down into a variety of different materials.

These materials are how you’ll craft different ammo, weapons, and other items in Prey. As such, make sure to clear your inventory of any useless items at a Recycler whenever you get the chance.
