The re-release of Phantom Dust will be launching tomorrow, May 16, for Xbox One and Windows 10 PC, Aaron Greenberg, Head of Xbox Games marketing, said today. The game will be free on both platforms.

Greenberg clarified in the replies to the tweet that Phantom Dust will be an Xbox Play Anywhere title, which means save data can be synced across Xbox One and Windows 10 PC versions. The game also supports cross-play, so players on both versions can play multiplayer with each other.

The re-release of the 2004 Xbox collectible card action game was first announced at E3 2014 as a reboot for the Xbox One, though was quietly scrapped a year later. Microsoft announced at E3 2016 that the game would be re-released with original graphics and improved Xbox Live functionality sometime in 2017.

Earlier this month, creative director Adam Isgreen gave more details on the title, including native resolution and the ability to skip missions. Phantom Dust will also support free and paid DLC in the form of boosters. The reason behind the boosters is Microsoft Studios “really wanted to allow people to jump into multiplayer and play immediately,” says Isgreen.
