NBA Playgrounds: Is It on Nintendo Switch?

Is NBA Playgrounds on Nintendo Switch?

Recommended Videos

It has been more than two months since the Nintendo Switch and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild were released, so you are probably looking for another game to sink your teeth into. Thankfully, NBA Playgrounds, the arcade-style basketball game that is reminiscent of NBA Jam, is out this week and is releasing on Nintendo Switch as well as PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

It will be available today (May 9) and will cost $19.99 via the Nintendo Switch’s eShop. However, if you are planning on buying it for the Switch, there is something you need to be aware of. Unlike on the other platforms, the multiplayer features of NBA Playgrounds will not be included in the Switch version immediately. The online multiplayer allows you to face off against another player, using the players you have unlocked. There is offline co-op that allows you to play competitively with other players from the comfort of your couch, but you’ll have to wait for the online modes in the Switch version. These features are expected to be patched into the game “a few days after launch,” however, so hopefully, we won’t be waiting too long.
