Layups should be easier to pull off now.
Saber Interactive has just released a new update for NBA Playgrounds on PC, and it brings a ton of new improvements to the game. Console versions haven’t received the patch just yet, but it shouldn’t be too long before they do as well.
First off, shooting mechanics have been improved quite a bit. There will now be a shot meter beneath the player’s feet whenever they go for a shot, and it will give further indication as to when you should release the shooting button to throw the ball. It’s not perfect, but it’s at least a much better solution than the game’s previous ‘Early’ and ‘Late’ messages.
The update also adds 15 new players to the roster, and Shaquille O’Neal alone has received five different versions of himself for the Boston Celtics, Miami Heat, Phoenix Suns, Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Orlando Magic.
The game’s Challenge Mode will also now allow you to invite your friends to matches, and the game will also penalize players for disconnecting from a match during online play.
NBA Playgrounds is now available on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Switch.
