That good old Gambit System.
Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age is the latest updated title in the series, but it’s much more than just a simple remaster. Besides an enormous graphical update, many of the core systems in Final Fantasy XII have either been updated or altered. However, one thing that remains the same is the Gambit System, something detailed in a new trailer released by Square Enix today.
The new trailer introduces us to five reasons you’ll want to care about Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age, with the dreamy Balthier being his own reason, of course. The biggest change to the systems of The Zodiac Age, comes in the changed License Board. Now, instead of every character getting the exact same License Board, you’ll be able to pick from a number of jobs, giving them a more defined role in combat and the party. The Gambit System allows you to setup your party member’s AI with great detail, giving them exact options for what they should do in combat. Even in the original game it was a complex, but deep system that really allowed you to customize your party’s battle abilities. You can take a look at the trailer down below.
Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age will release on July 11 for PlayStation 4. While you’re at it, take a look at some gorgeous screenshots from the upcoming game.
