The Great Ace Attorney 2 Gets a Lengthy New Trailer, Still No News on Localization

Will it ever come to the west?

The release date for Great Ace Attorney 2, or Dai Gyakuten Saiban as it’s referred to in Japan, was announced just a few days ago. To celebrate its announcement, Capcom has just released a new trailer for the game, showing off the various court and investigation systems, along with the main cast of characters. You can check out the new trailer down below.

The main characters are back from the first game, including Phoenix’s own ancestor from feudal Japan, Sherlock Holmes, Iris Watson, and Mikotoba Susato. As was the case with all the Ace Attorney games from the fifth main entry onward, Great Ace Attorney 2 makes use of 3D models instead of the classic 2D sprites. Players will have to look for evidence by investigating crime scenes with the 3DS stylus, and engage in new minigames while trying to get witnesses to testify.

The Great Ace Attorney 2 is set to be released exclusively for the 3DS on August 3 in Japan. However, this game and its predecessor have not yet been confirmed for any localization efforts.
