A great start.
Persona 5 has been highly anticipated by fans of the series for years. After several delays the game is finally here and, judging by the critical acclaim it has received, it looks like it was definitely worth the wait. Fans of the series will be pleased to learn that, as DualShockers reports, the game’s publisher Atlas has announced the game has shipped over 1.5 million copies.
The game was originally released in Japan in September of last year but fans in both North America and Europe had to wait an agonizing extra six months before they could get their hands on it.
It has not been revealed exactly how well Persona 5’s shipment of 1.5 million compares to previous entries in the series but, based on other game releases, shipping over a million within less than a week is certainly an excellent start. No doubt such promising early sales and strong reviews from critics will encourage more Persona games to be made in the future.
Persona 5 is available now exclusively on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.
