Double the terror.
The original Dead Space has been Xbox One backwards compatible for a good long time now. It’s still a great game, but it leaves you wanting to go through the other two games. Fortunately, now you can, because both Dead Space 2 and Dead Space 3 were given backwards compatibility. If at any point, you had the DLC for both games, they’ll be available for you to download in your library.
Originally releasing in 2011, Dead Space 2 follows Isaac Clarke, still traumatized after the events of the first game. Stuck on the space station the Sprawl as it’s infected by Necromorphs, Isaac must stop them and deal with his increasingly deteriorating sanity. Dead Space 3, meanwhile, follows Isaac and newcomer John Carver as they work together to end the Necromorph threat for good. Both games come with multiplayer–competitive for the former, and co-op for the latter–so if you want to play with friends and have Xbox Gold, go right on ahead. They’re backwards compatible, after all.
