Until Dawn
Sure, I guess you can say we had an Until Dawn sequel in the VR on-rails shooter Rush of Blood, but all fans really just want a true return to the enjoyable take on corny horror movies. Supermassive Games’ Until Dawn was yet another title that surprised many when it launched late in 2015. Originally in development as a PlayStation Move game, the developer eventually opted to bring it to the PS4 instead. With very little marketing buzz around it prior to launch, many had it pinned as an awkward flop for Sony’s first-party lineup, but it turned out to be quite the opposite.
Until Dawn may be cheesy, over-the-top, and filled with teen angst, but that’s what made it so fun to jump in. Even though you deep down probably knew you shouldn’t open that rattling trap door, you’ll go over and explore it anyway because you can. With a solid voice acting cast behind its eccentric and complex characters, Until Dawn became one of the best ways to ring in Halloween, especially with the replayability that its butterfly effect system brought with it.
