Zelda Breath of the Wild: How to Get Rupees (Money) Fast

Get Rupees (Money) Fast – Zelda Breath of the Wild

Rupees are the main form of currency in Breath of the Wild, as it has been in all prior Legend of Zelda games. When you first start out in Breath of the Wild, you’ll find that it’s pretty difficult to earn any money at all as enemies don’t drop them. In fact, you could even run into the game’s first merchant without a single Rupee to your name. We’ve listed out a few ways that will help you earn some Rupees fairly quickly.

Skeleton chests: As your’re roaming about Hyrule, you’ll come across enemy campsites with a locked skeleton chest. All you have to do is defeat all the enemies in the area, and the chest will open. The chest usually contains valuable gemstones like opals and ambers, and these can be sold for a good sum of Rupees.

Mining ores: While climbing mountains, you might come across ore deposits. Most of these will just give you rock salts, but the shinier deposits will actually reward you with more gemstones that you can sell for easy Rupees.

Side quests: The side quests in Breath of the Wild will reward you with some pretty good items. This includes gemstones that you can sell, of course.

Gambling: If you find Lurelin Village at the southernmost part of Hyrule, you could engage an NPC in a few bets and save scum your way to a good amount of money.

Aside from the above methods, just opening chests around the world (including the ones in Shrines) will sometimes reward you with Rupees too. If all else fails, you could also sell your excess cooked food or bokoblin horns that you don’t need anymore.
