Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Loot Grinding Trick Using Amiibo

Get those rare items faster.

For those who are unaware, Nintendo has found a way to incorporate Amiibos into Zelda: Breath of the Wild. If a player owns an Amiibo based off a character from the Zelda franchise, they can use to receive a chest with items unique to that particular Amiibo. The restriction is that each Amiibo you have can only be scanned once every 24 hours. Players, however, have quickly found ways to circumvent the 24 hour Amiibo cool-down.

One way to do this is to simply reset the game and load your last save which will allow you to scan your Amiibo again. This is particularly useful to players that are looking to acquire a certain item. If they don’t get the item they want they can simply reload their last save and continue getting chest drops until the desired item appears.

The other way is to manually move the Switch’s internal clock forward so it thinks a day has gone by. Keep in mind the Switch must be disconnected from the internet in order for this one to work.

With these methods, Zelda Breath of the Wild players don’t have to wait days or weeks for their Amiibos to grant them the most coveted items.
