While journeying in Breath of the Wild, you will come across a whole forest of trees that hold fruits and other consumable items that can help you on your adventure. While you can climb these trees to pick up items, there are some items that will be too far up the tree, and will be impossible for you to get by simply climbing. You’ll need to chop down trees in order to get them.

You can chop down trees simply by attacking them with whatever weapon you have equipped. However, the process will be much more efficient and will go a lot quicker if you hack it with an axe. You can grab an axe very early on in the game after meeting up with the Old Man outside the Shrine of Resurrection. However, do note that whacking a tree with any weapon will cause the weapon to degrade, so you’ll want to watch out for that. It’s definitely recommended that you use an axe for the best results.

That’s all you need to know to chop down trees in Breath of the Wild. Be sure to check back with Twinfinite and our ever-expanding wiki for more tips, tricks, and information on Breath of the Wild.
