Mass Effect Andromeda: How to Hover

How to Hover in Mass Effect Andromeda

Recommended Videos

The jetpack in Mass Effect Andromeda is a useful little gadget, allowing the player to reach new heights thanks to the added verticality in level design as well as giving you a vantage during combat thanks to hovering. In order to hover simply hold L2/LT while in the air. This will keep you locked in place allowing you to rain down fire and brimstone (or just plain ‘ol bullets) onto your adversaries.

This technique is useful in many situations. Finding hard to spot enemies is one, so you can then issue orders to your party or call out positions when playing online with friends. Another is to counter quick, melee focused enemies. Jump up out of reach then let loose a few headshots for good measure as they struggle to hit you. Chances are you’ll find other neat tricks for that hovering technique as well.

Do note that the hover isn’t unlimited. Don’t think that you can just stay in the sky forever. Eventually you’ll have to put boots to dirt again and there will be some angry aliens waiting for you. Just make sure to make the most of your vantage point.
