Game of Thrones Season 7 Comes to HBO This July

Game of Thrones, season 7 release date

The block has melted.

Season 7 Release Date – Game of Thrones

Game of Thrones has taken the world by storm for a good few years now, and as the show moves into its seventh season, fans will be eagerly wondering when they can catch up with their favorite characters once more.

Well, HBO has finally put us out of our misery, confirming the season 7 release date. Game of Thrones season 7 will premiere on HBO on July 16.

HBO revealed the season 7 release date with the help of fans on their Facebook page. Viewers were told to type “Fire” into the comments section to help melt a block of ice on the screen containing the season 7 release date. After a good 15 minutes of fire melting ice and patient waiting, however, the live stream went down, and fans were told the ice melting would continue “soon.”

Eventually, after a couple more instances of the stream going down, fans were finally given the date they’ve been waiting so long for. While it’s later than the usual March or April premiere for a Game of Thrones season, at least we finally know just how much longer we have to wait.

Season 7 is set to be the penultimate for Game of Thrones, though the creators have discussed the possibility of spinoffs once season 8 has come to an end.
