How to Beat the Humbaba in Final Fantasy XV: Episode Gladiolus
Final Fantasy XV: Episode Gladioulus has you squaring off against quite a few tough enemies, as Gladio undertakes the Trials of the Blademaster. The third trial you undertake has you face a powerful red giant called the Humbaba. It can be a tough fight, especially considering you have limited healing items, so we’ll give you some tips on how to beat it in Episode Gladiolus.
The Humbaba is a one-on-one fight, so you have plenty of room to maneuver. You’ll want to mostly watch out for its massive sword swings, which have considerable range. The best move to use against this enemy is the parry, so watch for when it’s about to swing its sword, and then hit square right before the blow connects. This will allow you to follow up with an attack, sometimes staggering the Humbaba and even executing a special attack in some cases. Keep on parrying, and dodge the attack where the enemy slams his fist into the ground. You can dart in for an attack or two when you see an opening. Try to not get hit, as this’ll allow you to build up your Valor meter, and use powerful special attacks.
There’s also a pillar you can grab in this room, and use the triangle button to unleash an attack that’ll take off a good chunk of health. Just try to focus on dodging and parrying while building up enough meter for a special attack. You’ll take down the Humbaba eventually.
