Some optional account services for World of Warcraft will increase in price for those paying in euros and pounds, Blizzard announced this week. Beginning April 5, some services such as changing your name, transferring your character, and changing faction will cost a little bit more.
“We carefully review the prices of our games and services in all currencies on a regular basis, and we occasionally need to make changes based on regional market conditions,” Blizzard wrote in the post.
The statement is similar to what the company said after recently increasing prices of card packs for its digital collectible card game Hearthstone. The price increase affected many countries across Europe and Asia, though the pound received the highest increase.
WoWHead has compiled a table comparing the current prices with the proposed changes. Changing your name receives the smallest increase at €8 to €10/£9, while Character Transfer & Faction Change, Character Boost, and Guild Transfer & Faction Change receive a 25% increase. World of Warcraft subscription prices are not affected by these changes.
Blizzard is currently offering a sale to save 25% on character and guild changing services through April 4. The game adds a new zone and flying mounts in the 7.2 update, which is expected to drop on March 28.
