Pokemon GO: How to Evolve Scyther into Scizor

How to Evolve Scyther Into Scizor – Pokemon GO

Recommended Videos

The new Pokemon GO update has arrived, and it brought a ton of new Gen 2 Pokemon into the mix. One of these new additions is Scizor, the evolved form of Scyther. For those looking to catch ’em all, here’s how to evolve Scyther into Scizor.

The first thing you’ll need is a Scyther, which can often be found in grassy or forest areas. If you do have one, great, move on to step two–get a Metal Coat. You won’t be able to evolve Scyther without this item, a special evolution item added with the Gen 2 update. You can get a Metal Coat as a reward from Poke Stop spins, though it will appear less rarely than other drops.

Once you have the Metal Coat, and have 50 candy, you’ll be able to hit that good ol’ evolve button and evolve Scyther into Scizor. Your grassy friend now has a new steel type, and hopefully some kickass new abilities.

Be careful using your Metal Coat, however. Once used to evolve a Pokemon, it will disappear, and you’ll have to find another. If you only have one and would rather turn your Onix into a Steelix, maybe Scizor can wait.
