Developer Obsidian Entertainment’s campaign for Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire has stormed past $3.5 million, which is whopping 320% more than the original goal.
There are less than 48 hours left for the game’s crowdfunding campaign, but Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire has already soared past all its listed stretch goals. The game’s original target of $1.1 million was smashed in just 24 hours earlier this year.
Over 28K people have backed Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire, making it among the most supported crowdfunded games over the past year, and the most backed game ever on Fig. Only two other games have achieved comparable crowdfunding figures in the past 15 months: Wasteland 3 and Psychonauts 2.
Pillars Of Eternity is heavily inspired by seminal classic RPGs such as by classic titles such as Baldur’s Gate II: Shadows of Amn and Planescape: Torment. The upcoming sequel aims to improve upon the rich narrative and tactical combat that proved such a hit with the original.
Deadfire takes players on a second journey to the world of Eora, where the game takes place on the mysterious Deadfire Archipelago.
