NieR: Automata – Fishing

Recommended Videos

Fishing is back in NieR: Automata, and thankfully, the fishing mechanics are definitely a lot more streamlined than they were in the first game. As soon as you gain access to the open world, you’ll be able to start fishing for marine life immediately. When you’re near a body of water, your Pod will give you a prompt to start to fish. Simply hold down the circle button to begin the process, and 2B will conjure a virtual stool for her to sit on as she commands the Pod to go fish.

All you have to do is use the reticle to indicate where the Pod should go to fish, and then wait. Make sure that the Pod is always in your view, though, as you’ll need to rely on visual cues to determine whether you have a catch or not. Once the Pod plops into the water, tap the circle button to reel it in. The Pod will return to you with a fish, or whatever it was able to find underwater. Fish can be sold for a good amount of money, so this is a good mini game to keep in mind.
