Horizon Zero Dawn: How to Save

How to Save – Horizon Zero Dawn

Recommended Videos

Defeating the machines of Horizon Zero Dawn can be a tiring task. There’s a ton of quests and collectibles scattered around the world that it’s likely you’ll need to take a break every once in awhile and save your game. After all, an unexpected encounter with a powerful machine can set your progress back heavily.

In order to save your game in Horizon Zero Dawn, you’ll have to visit a campfire. These are dotted around all over the map, so you shouldn’t have too much of an issue finding one nearby. When you arrive at one, you’ll have two options. You can either press Triangle to initiate a quick save, allowing you to carry on with your adventure within seconds, or you can press Square for a manual save. This will allow you to overwrite your previous file, and may give you some additional reassurance that your progress is safe. If you’re planning on coming off Horizon Zero Dawn and turning your system off, we advise the manual option every time.

That’s all you need to know to save your game in Horizon Zero Dawn. For more tips, tricks, and guides, be sure to check out our ever-expanding wiki guide.
