Trick or treat!

It’s not just Castlevania that’s getting the cartoon treatment. Today, Amazon announced that they’ve greenlit a cartoon based on Double Fine’s Costume Quest. The series will come to Amazon Prime next year and will be aimed at 6 to 11-year-olds. In the show, four kids will fight the “dark forces” in the town of Auburn Pines, learning to unlock the powers of supernatural costumes that each offer a new range of transformations and powers.

Exactly what connection Costume Quest the show will have to the games is unclear, as is the voice cast and specific release date. The cartoon will be produced by Frederator Studios (who’s also handling the aforementioned Castlevania cartoon), and will be executive produced by Will McRobb, who also serves as story editor. The games, which released in 2010 and 2014 respectively, starred twins Wren and Reynold. During Halloween, their trick or treating adventures take a turn towards fighting monsters and saving the world from the evil Dr. Orel White.
