BioWare Boss Clarifies “Softcore Porn” Comments Regarding Mass Effect: Andromeda

No smut aboard this ship!

Mass Effect: Andromeda is one of this year’s most anticipated games and we can’t wait to start exploring the stars in a new adventure. The Mass Effect series is not only known for its exploration gameplay, intense combat, and memorable characters, but also the fact that players can form romantic relationships with other characters.

In past games, these relationships have been very well written and, whilst they do culminate in a short sex scene, they never felt smutty as the characters in Mass Effect are so well fleshed out. It has been confirmed that romances will return in Andromeda but headlines were made yesterday when BioWare GM Aaryn Flynn took to Twitter to describe Andromeda as “totally softcore space porn.” When a fan asked if he was trolling, Flynn replied “Oh, I’m not.”

This caused quite a stir with Mass Effect fans with some worrying that this might take away from the game’s quality. Flynn has now taken to Twitter once again to clarify his comments.

It seems that Flynn was only joking with his earlier comments but it’s understandable that fans were confused given that he specifically stated he was being serious.

Mass Effect: Andromeda is set to be released on March 21 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
