Xbox One owners may be aware that, whilst the console does support USB keyboards, it still does not support full keyboard and mouse controls. However, this may change according to Xbox head Phil Spencer.
When asked on Twitter by a gamer whether the upcoming release of Halo Wars 2 might see some PC-based peripherals come to the Xbox One, Spencer replied that such support won’t be there by the launch of Halo Wars 2 but could come in the future.
Keyboard and mouse controls are very popular with the RTS (real time strategy) genre as it allows players more control over the battlefield. Many players also argue that keyboard and mouse is better for first-person shooters, a genre that does very well on the Xbox One. There are no doubt plenty of Xbox gamers who would be willing to trade their controller for a mouse if the option were available, that said, both RTS games and shooters can still be very good with controllers.
Halo Wars 2 is set to be released on the Xbox One and PC on Feb 21.
