Crackdown 3 was first shown at E3 2014 as an Xbox One exclusive, part of their greatest lineup ever presentation. Unfortunately, fans are still waiting for that greatest lineup to be completed, and with one of the stars of said lineup recently being cancelled, many are turning to Crackdown 3 as their own Obi-Wan Kenobi. With Microsoft’s first-party lineup dwindling, Crackdown 3 – alongside Halo Wars 2 and Sea of Thieves – needs to impress, but it will have to release first.
Crackdown 3 was set to be delivered to players in two parts. The first part would be the multiplayer component which featured cloud-powered destruction and was supposed to be available last summer. Unfortunately, the scope of the game didn’t allow that, so the entire project was pushed to the present. That delay was revealed around E3, almost seven months ago, and we haven’t heard anything since.
Games that go silent after delay don’t have the greatest track-record, so there is growing concern surrounding Reagent Games’ upcoming project. Unless some information is shared soon, many will start to believe that this one will go the way of its recently cancelled Xbox One exclusive compatriot.
