Square Celebrates Final Fantasy VII’s Anniversary with a New Screenshot… of Kingdom Hearts III

That looks familiar.

Final Fantasy VII is currently celebrating is 20th anniversary, something that Square Enix has decided to celebrate with a homage from one of their biggest upcoming titles. The Kingdom Hearts III official Twitter uploaded a new screenshot from the game, putting Sora in the exact same pose that adorns the cover of Final Fantasy VII. It’s a neat reference to one of the most well known Final Fantasy shots, and gives us a good glimpse of Yen Sid’s Tower in the process. Take a look at it below.

At the Final Fantasy 30th Anniversary Opening Ceremony last night, we also got a look at a brand new key visual from the Final Fantasy VII Remake. The picture featured Midgard, Cloud, and our first look at Sephiroth in the Remake. Take a look at it here.

We also found out that Cloud Strife will soon be making his way to the mobiel game, Mobius Final Fantasy. Additionally, Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age was given a release date in July.

Kingdom Hearts III is currently in development for Xbox One and PS4, and hasn’t been given an official release date as of yet. The Final Fantasy VII Remake also has not been given a firm release window.
