Resident Evil 7 – Using the Antique Coins

Recommended Videos

On your journey through the Baker residence, you’ll occasionally come across these items called Antique Coins. The item description isn’t very helpful, and you won’t be able to use them till after you’ve cleared the first main boss fight.

After you’ve escaped the main house, you’ll find an RV parked right before you enter the game’s second area. Here, you’ll find a save room, an item box, and a few peculiar cages. These cages actually contain valuable character and weapon upgrades that will make the game a little easier for you. However, in order to open the cages, you’ll need to spend your Antique Coins. The Coin cost to open them up can be found at the bottom of each cage, and there will be a note on the top of the cages, telling you exactly what each special upgrade will do for you.

Once you’ve decided on the upgrade you want to purchase, interact with the cage and spend the required number of Antique Coins. The cage will open and offer up your prize. Remember to actually use the upgrade item for it to take effect.
