Not long to wait.
Dishonored 2’s next update that will bring a number of new features and improvements, such as custom difficulty and mission select settings, has officially been dated by Bethesda.
The news comes via a post on Bethesda’s blog, detailing the new features. With more than 20 different sliders, players will be able to fine tune the difficulty of their experience with the new custom difficulty options. The sliders control all manner of different gameplay mechanics that can give you a helping hand, without making the whole thing a cakewalk. For example, players will be able to change how quickly Sleep Darts take effect.
Of course, it isn’t just about making the whole experience easier. Dishonored 2’s custom difficulty settings include an Iron Mode slider which turns on permadeath and disables manual saving and loading.
As for Dishonored 2’s mission select, the feature will work as you expect. Players will be able to revisit any mission they have already finished. With creativity and freedom being at the heart of Dishonored 2’s gameplay, this new addition makes replaying your favorite levels a lot less hassle. Bethesda hasn’t yet commented on whether or not these two new features will effect trophy and achievement unlocks, but we’ll be sure to keep you updated as and when details emerge.
Bethesda has also mentioned that the update will include a number of other “new and improved features based on player feedback,” with more details coming in the future.
Dishonored 2’s Game Update 2 will be available for all Steam Beta members first on Jan. 18, before coming to regular members, and PS4 and Xbox One owners on Jan. 23.
