All Action Games Releasing in 2017

With 2016 now in the past, it’s time to look forward at the plethora of action-focused titles coming this year. One of the most popular video game genres, action has helped define a variety of different games and franchises. It’s important to note that some of the titles on this list aren’t just solely action games, as there are a variety of sub-genres that can be explored.

Some of the most notable titles coming out soon include the combat driven For Honor that allows users take control of ancient warriors to do battle against one another. While on the opposite end of the spectrum, Ghost Recon: Wildlands, is the long-awaited return for this tactical, military shooter that has a heavy focus on co-op. There are also a plethora of titles such as Horizon Zero Dawn and Mass Effect that lean heavier into the RPG territory but still have an action focus when it comes to their combat mechanics.

We will be focusing on the North American release dates, as some of these games are already available in Japan. Below are all of the confirmed action titles coming in 2017:
