The King of Fighters XIV Holiday DLC and Graphical Update Announced

The King of Fighters XIV has announced its free holiday promo on the PlayStation blog, which includes a anew DLC costume for Athena Asamiya and a selection of new PS4 themes.

The costume takes players on a nostalgic trip back to The King of Fighters ’98, giving Athena a retro makeover in line with her old-school look.

You’d better get the update now, because in a month’s time it will be re-issued as paid DLC – make hay while the sun shines. You will also receive the holiday-flavored PS4 themes so you can brawl with festive cheer.

The blog post also sheds some light on the details of the v1.10 patch for The King of Fighters XIV. This includes a graphical touch up with some cosmetic improvements thrown in as well.

Each character will have their color variations upped from four to six for instance, but also there are higher resolution textures and some updated shaders. These are noticeable, as you can see in the screenshot below:

The King of Fighters XIV was released earlier this year, and we liked it. Alex praised the game calling it “technically difficult, but incredibly fun.”
