Steep: How to Do Tricks

Tricks – Steep

Recommended Videos

While you can just focus on making your way to the bottom of the Alps mountain range as fast as possible in Steep, you’ll also want to pull off some tricks to rack up a high score. To do this, however, you’ll need to learn the ropes and all of the different options at your disposal. Here’s how to do tricks in Steep.

First, you won’t be able to pull off any tricks if you’re not jumping. To jump in Steep, all you have to do is hold down the R2 or RT button before taking off and release it just as you see the blue marker at the end of the jump. Not all jumps will have these markers, however, so be sure to just let go at the very last moment.

Now that you’ve successfully got your character up and into the air, this is where your options come available. Using the left analog stick, move it left or right to make your character spin. The longer you hold it, the more they’ll spin, but remember you’ll need to land smoothly to bank the points, too.

We’ve got guides on how to do basic and advanced tricks here which talk you through all of the different options available to you in Steep.
