NieR: Automata – How to Use the Pod Program

Just make sure to lock on first.

Pod Program – NieR: Automata

Think of the Pod Program as a limit break of sorts in Automata. Whenever your Pod has moved out of its cooldown period, you’ll be able to activate a special ability that allows your Pod to shoot a torrent of bullets at your enemies.

To activate the Pod Program, simply tap the L1 button to start it up. Once you hit the button, the Pod will immediately start shooting. However, it will only shoot in a straight line. This means that if you’re not aiming at anything, the Pod Program will likely just end up hitting air. To prevent this from happening, be sure to use the target lock system and lock on to an enemy near you. This way, activating the Pod Program will aim the Pod at whichever foe you’re locked on to, and shoot them instead. After activation, you’ll see a white circle surrounding your Pod, indicating the cooldown period and how much time it has left.

As the game progresses, you’ll be able to customize your Pod and also choose what kinds of abilities and equipment you want it to have. Before that, though, you’ll have to make do with your rapid fire bullets, and use them wisely.
