The Game Awards Kicked off tonight with a few reveals and announcements, but didn’t waste any time in honoring Hideo Kojima.
After a lauding speech from Geoff Keighley, Kojima accepted an Industry Icon award for his long-time and passionate work for games. His acceptance was full of gratitude and love:
“Last year I thought I lost everything. But I didn’t… I didn’t lose anything.”
Last year’s Game Awards was without Kojima, who was barred from attending by Konami, the studio he had developed Metal Gear Solid V under. This year, Geoff hopes to remedy his inability to accept an award for the game.
“I love games, I love this world, I really love you all from my heart. Thank you… Thank you so much”
He thanked The Game Awards and Geoff, and closed out with a new trailer for his upcoming game, Death Stranding.
Do you remember those Tomb Raider 1, 2, and 3 remasters we said might come to Steam?...
