The day that Final Fantasy XV launched Square Enix held a special livestream featuring a version of the game called “Mystery Disc.” This added on a few crazy and wacky details like launch day decorations in one of the cities, and even a dramatic boss battle against Square Enix CEO Yosuke Matsuda.
Today the director of Final Fantasy XV, Hajime Tabata, announced during a Famitsu livestream that the team is planning to add the fight on as DLC. Tabata was asked if Matsuda would be angry about it, to which he responded the CEO was a pretty good sport about the whole thing. There’s no word on when the DLC will release, or if it will cost anything.
During the stream Tabata also talked about the upcoming Holiday Pack, included in Final Fantasy XV’s season pass. The DLC is scheduled to be released by the end of the year and will include things like “New Game Plus,” and a “Level Cap Creation Feature.”
Final Fantasy XV is currently available on PS4 and Xbox One, and you can see our review of the game here. It was also announced today that XV shipped 5 million copies on launch day, making it the fastest selling title in the series.
