The Game Awards kicked things off tonight by giving an Industry Icon award to Hideo Kojima, the creator and director of the Metal Gear Solid series. After accepting his award, Kojima showed off a brand new trailer for his upcoming game Death Stranding.
The trailer stars the famous film director Guillermo del Torro, as his character seems to be running away from soldiers. Del Torro’s character is holding a baby in some kind of storage device. As he enters a sewer, another group of soldiers appears in his way, led by a new character played by the actor Mads Mikkelsen. Take a look at the trailer down below.
Apparently the footage shown off was running on PS4 Pro in 4K resolution.
Death Stranding is a PlayStation 4 exclusive, and currently doesn’t have any release window. A panel on the game is scheduled for Saturday, December 1 during the PlayStation Experience, and Kojima himself will be in attendance.
