Filters in Astroneer are a backpack item that is a one-time use item that can be crafted to provide 20 seconds of oxygen when there are no other sources of oxygen around. These come in handy when you start to navigate “off-tethers” or when there is no mined oxygen around. Filters come with four tanks, so one filter gives a full 80 seconds of oxygen.
Filters can only be activated when there are no sources of oxygen available and they will be activated automatically. Similar to power cells, Filters can only be crafted after you unlock the schematics through The Research Station.
